I'm so glad you gave it a try, Squishy, and thanks for the feedback on the other variations (I'm sure that Skyhammer/Norse God was very easy going about the extra salt, too!). We are making plans to visit as soon as we can (and as soon as you know where you'll be in May!)

Holler: I'm very touched :) I hope you enjoyed making the bread. We've run out of beer just now but I'm wondering if cider will do the trick...

Eco Sis - the credit is all Eco Bro's - and tell him I'm not listening to his self-deprecations in future - I thought the photos were amazing too!Lysyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13415024852684873909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1771284408689880345.post-90041193510578534952009-01-11T20:18:00.000+00:002009-01-11T20:18:00.000+00:00I was really excited when you published this post ...I was really excited when you published this post as I love baking and this gave me a chance to appropriate one of Skyhammer's beers! Despite my ineptitude as demonstrated today when I added 1 tbsp of salt instead of 1 tsp and did not cool the beer to room temp before use (although maybe that wasn't necessary), the bread turned out pretty well - maybe not as light as intended. I changed a couple of things - I used sage instead of thyme and I used one cup of wholewheat flour and 2 of regular. My kitchen smelt amazing as I baked it, and lo and behold, although a little more salty than I generally like my bread, it was actually very tasty! Extremely easy to make as well.

Your blogs are a joy to read! Hopefully you two can come and visit Skyhammer and myself in Vancouver soon!Nicole Sheldrakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04134446481877852953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1771284408689880345.post-79010942307816244732009-01-11T18:58:00.000+00:002009-01-11T18:58:00.000+00:00what wonderful photography... :)what wonderful photography... :)Ilanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06263847528364818258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1771284408689880345.post-58174085740426526562009-01-11T12:58:00.000+00:002009-01-11T12:58:00.000+00:00Wow, these are amazing!
