I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was native. BTW, my Aussie children's cake book arrived today from ebay - I'm tickled pink and can't wait for an occasion to use it! Watercress seems a particularly british herb/green because it is everywhere in my british cookbooks but nowhere in our shops (I have found one place).
